LARP

aaaah the summer ends and around me the LARP season starts to flower up like daisies in spring. This last trimester of the year we will be treated with Caege in September, Saga in october (all come, this really will be an important one), Poort in November and Manticore in December. Eternica will return after a sabatical, but unfortunatly they organise their event around the dutch/belgian fest Sinterklaas and since I already made plans for it, I am affraid I will not be able to come.
I am going to skip Caege too because in that weekend I will be flying to Pisa for a week of vacation in Italy: Toscane. I really could use it, the last vacation I had was feb-2007. That was of course awesome, we went to New Zealand.
Anyways on the Saga forum things are really busy so things are warming up again.
What also is warming up is Angst. Angst is an event that was organised by the well talented Sven de Braekeleir. Unfortunatly he immigrated to his love in Australia and Angst went with him. Me and also Onno are very big fans of Cthulhu and Angst (most Angst events are based on the Cthulhu Mythos from H.P. Lovecraft) and we decided to pick it up again.
I had done several other attempts to get Angst (which means Fear) back on the track but many people pulled back at the last minute.
Now we have a team of 4 and at the beginning of 2009 we will offer Angst again. Be there !

Role play

I am a real nerd.
I love role play.
I have so many books at home I did not even try them all yet.
A few of my favourites I played: Forgotten Realms, Warhammer Fantasy Role Play and of course Vampire the Masquerade. And I should not forget Onno's self made AD&D world where I played one of my favourite Characters: The Ace of Spades (a jester who went from level 3 to 18).
A few on my wishlist to play: Paranoia, Shadowrun, Warhammer 40k Role play and Deadlands.
There is a Roleplay world however I never really played in (well not for a long time, the campaigns allways got cancelled after a few sessions) is Dragonlance.
I read many books about it and know quite a lot about the world.

In this world my favourite character all time plays a signifficant role, Raistlin.
The story is tragic, intrueging, and the struggle of evil and good in a man. As an apprentice wizard he was tested by his school of magic. He nearly failed and as a punishment to that his body is even frailer then it once was (with coughing attacks that nearly knock him out). His skin turned golden, his hair white and his eyes had hourglassed pupils, making him see the world not like we do, but decaying seeing everything around him dying.

It made him bitter, it made him rotten.

However he did gain his staff, a magic artefact of which he slowly gains knowledge.
In the end he challenges a god to take over the place and become a man turned god. He is all powerfull though so frail.

I really liked (and many with me) him most of all. However many character appeal to me and on spot 2 and 3 would come the Kender Tasslehoff Burrfoot and Sturm, the wannabe knight, who was more knight then most real knights were in that world.

Only on 4th place I would place Drizz't Du'orden... the drow from the Forgotten realms that most role players would place on their list as nr 1 (he is extremely kewl though).

Artwork from Dragonlance is in my eyes allways from 1 man: Larry Elmore (http://www.larryelmore.com/)
Uber Artwork from Drizz't Du'orden is mostly from Todd Lockwood (http://www.toddlockwood.com/).
This is their art.

ok again

Ok I am clearly not good at this...
however since I am reading Vince's Blog (http://vincekatharsis.blogspot.com/) single time and enjoying myself on it... and allways learning new things about him.

Like... him playing changeling... I hope he likes it.
To be honest, without Nico it becomes even more bureaucratic.

My fingers are itching with the will to create LARP but I cannot find my place in that world at this moment.
I either want to restart the Old-World of Darkness or want to pick up Oneiros' 1night horror LARP Angst.
I miss 1 thing however: people.
I will NOT handle this by myself... I need people who want to write the scenario with me and want to do the handling on the event itself.

first doc done

Ok I finished an overview with all the vampires in the domain an a status overview.

Now all I have to do is make a sheet of all those characters, and make a sheet of the boons, which will also be a hell of a job.

However I still like to do it and I am really into the old World of Darkness again.

I wanna go for it ! By the way, 5 players are playing now, I hope I can handle them.

The blood crawls where it can't go (dutch saying)

Now that I finally found out I can post a blog with mailing to it, I think I will post more often. At least that is the intention.

But that is not why I am posting now. I decided to ST (storytell, host as you might call it) a new role playing campaign. I had this muze on my shoulder when I picked something up which I wanted to mould into a story. I have asked Bard and An for my first two players and they said yes. My document is almost ready. It is a 40 page document with info from the domain of vampires and their surroundings. I am having the vibes again, let’s hope this will not be the umpteenth work in progress thing that will never see the daylight.
